Design Director/Merchandiser with over 18 years of experience in the apparel industry developing branded, private label, and license products for mass market, mid-tier, and department stores. I have an extensive design background in various product categories in both men’s and women’s apparel. I am a strategic thinker and creative problem solver which allows me to balance the need for growth with profitability. With a keen ability to bring innovative and trend-relevant products to the market I have a proven track record of high volume growth along with bottom line results. I have a passion for fashion, prints, color, fabrics, and a critical eye for detail. I am self- motivated and able to balance multiple priorities while maintaining flexibility in this fast paced environment.

I have successfully built thriving design teams which have formed effective cross-functional partnerships with product development and sales. I have learned that one of the most important elements to success is teamwork. Developing and managing design teams with a balance of creativity, chemistry and high productivity has always been a primary goal.

I worked as a Graphic Designer at MJC in San Francisco under the VP of Design, Christine McAdams. I started MJC in 2005 as an Associate Designer and was in the role of Designer/ Brand Manger when I left the company in 2011. Christine’s leadership had a positive impact on my growth as an individual designer as well as a member of our design team. Under Christine’s leadership I was encouraged to share my opinions and ideas in order to contribute to the design process. Christine set goals with me so that my efforts had direction and purpose. This foundation motivated me to work harder and more efficiently towards tangible goals that were attainable through dedication. Christine gave my job purpose and created opportunities for me to learn and continue to grow in my career. As a member of the design team, I felt that Christine created a relaxed and open atmosphere while at the same time demanding dedication and hard work. This balance inspired a creative environment with proportionate contributions from each member. Everyone felt that their opinions and participation mattered and we were motivated by the hard work of our peers. I have learned a lot from Christine about leadership and the importance of creating a team environment where all members have the opportunity to contribute. My time at MJC with Christine was where I laid the foundation to be successful in my career. She has been a significant mentor in my life and I feel so lucky to have worked for her.

As a graphic designer, I have had the opportunity to meet and work with many creative individuals. Paul Frank

This brand was signed in Fall of 2009. Our main focus was for Target Juniors & Men's. This is what I'll show in the Portfolio section of this site. We also created seperate seasonal presentations for Mid-Tier and Premium accounts. It was a joy to work with Paul Frank developing this business to 7 million annually.

OP

OP is a Iconix property that we designed and produced for Walmart starting in 2008. For this brand I worked directly with and presented to the Walmart VP of Brand Managment. This was an interesting way to work as it took the tradional salesperson/buyer relationship completley out of the picture. This program's highlight was a $20 million S3 2009 multi pallet program that was merchandised by color on modular shipping pallets.

Walmart

Here I'm showing the juniors and womens seasonal licensed collections that we started doing in 2009. For Walmart we were allowed to do Disney as a DTR program. We worked closely with Disney on their product begining with seasonal trend kickoffs in which we traveled down to L.A. to present and ending in final presentation of line. Once Disney was onboard with our seasonal direction we designed the entire collections and presented to the Walmart buyer showing trend for silloutte, fabrication and graphics. We then revised based on intial feedback and proceeded to ADM sampling which the bulk of was domestic samples with small selections of each group sampled overseas with production quality samples. After Walmarts ADM meetings we would then revise based on ADM comments and proceed to AFM sampling which consisted of all overseas production quality samples. We also created OP at the same time as well as Men's Walmart licensed product.
